Many professional nursing organizations engage in the development of health policy. One way nurses participate in health and nursing policy issues is through membership in one or more of these organizations. Choose one local, state, or national nursing organization other than American Nurses Association (ANA) that has an interest in policy development and advocacy. Include the following criteria in the post:

• Organizational status (national / date)
• Vision/mission
• Organization’s mandates or objectives/goals
• Policy goals (if they have written one)
• Policy products (briefs, positions statements, White Papers, social media)
• A webpage that outlines political activity
• Mechanisms for nurses to engage
