Professional Growth

Write two 500-1000 word reflections describing your personal and professional growth during that half year and how the approved CAPD activities you engaged in that supported your personal and/or professional development. Need for each of the two BOLDED AND UNDERLINED questions 500 words minimum.

Service Domain Learning Outcomes include:

• Apply pharmacy knowledge and practical skills to improve community health through public service and patient outreach
• Demonstrate caring through volunteering and acts of service
• Demonstrate fair treatment and empathy for all people regardless of their circumstances, health literacy, psychological or emotional perspectives/ attitudes
• Demonstrate humility, honesty, and a desire to take on new challenges to provide service to others

Interview a patient of an ethnic minority group to gain insight of how they feel about their overall healthcare.  Some possible questions to include:  What is your comfort addressing your health-related concerns to healthcare providers?  Do you trust or feel respected by your healthcare provider?    How satisfied are you with your healthcare?

Make some answers to these as if you are a pharmacist. Talk about how they weren’t satisfied and how that made me want to change his mind and the effect it had on me moving forward as a pharmacist.

Interprofessional Collaboration Domain Learning Outcomes include:

• Demonstrate growth in confidence in interactions and communication with other healthcare team members
• Advocate for pharmacist’s contributions to the interprofessional healthcare team
• Advocate for patients and caregivers to other healthcare providers
• Demonstrate receptiveness to new ideas and desire for continued learning across discipline silos
• Accept and apply constructive criticism to self and other team members to improve team dynamics and effectiveness

Interview a student or practitioner of another healthcare profession to determine the impact of COVID-19 on their practice. Some questions could include: What changes have you had or expect in how you practice? What is your greatest concern? What do you think that we, as a society, are not doing that we should?
