Part 1 :of the assignment, you will be conducting SWOT analyses of the U.S. healthcare system and two (2) other international healthcare systems – three total SWOT analyses .  Make sure you include Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cost, access, and quality of care.  Refer to material provided in the LinkedIn Learning course “Conducting a SWOT Analysis” for information related to SWOT analysis.  Regarding quality, are you talking about patient satisfaction scores, specific quality outcomes, or operational inefficiencies?  Each of these could be a different strength, weakness, opportunity, or threat.

Internal vs. External to a Country’s Healthcare System

any service or organization that participates in DIRECT PATIENT CARE (e.g., hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, long-term care facilities, outpatient imaging/surgery centers, public health programs, etc.) will be considered INTERNAL.  All other healthcare organizations or stakeholders (e.g., government, payers, regulators, researchers, pharmaceuticals, manufacturers, suppliers, information technology, global markets, etc.) will be considered EXTERNAL. A minimum of 5 items for each category/quadrant; for a more in-depth, thorough, and comprehensive analysis, more is expected.
