Recent political developments in the United States have resulted in various laws being proposed, debated, and sometimes passed that would limit speech deemed offensive or illegal, or limit social media companies ability to moderate their platforms.  Some examples are:

  • a proposed South Carolina law that would make it illegal to host a website providing information that would “reasonably likely be used for an abortion.”
  • a Florida law (currently stayed due to a Court of Appeals injunction against enforcement) that would prohibit internet platforms from removing or moderating any speech by or about political candidates.
  • a Texas law prohibiting social media companies from banning users based on their viewpoint.

WARNING!!!!  These are hot button topics. I fully expect all comments to be civil and thoughtful
