There are four required concepts to include to organize the framework for my program. They include person, nursing, health, and environment. This week’s lesson has a lot of good information regarding the four concepts. Chamberlain University College of Nursing (2023) states that through the organizing framework, faculty are able to see how the curriculum progresses and whether all of the desired elements or objectives have been met throughout the curriculum and can detect weaknesses and assess if desired content is met in a curriculum.
The person concept refers to the person who is receiving care. Every person is an individual with individual needs. Each person has their own beliefs and values. The next concept in nursing. Nursing is a healthcare profession involving many values and disciplines. Nurses must remain resilient, provide compassion, care, and maintain a safe healthcare environment, among other important nursing responsibilities. The third concept is health. Health involves social, mental, and physical overall well-being. Basic measures, such as handwashing to decrease the spread of illnesses are important to people to decrease the risk of impairing one’s health. The last concept is the environment. The environment focuses on the surrounding where the nurse provides care to the person (patient) to improve health and well-being.
