Over the course of your degree, we have explored evidence-informed practice, quality and safety and translating research. As a registered nurse, you need to be able to use quality improvement to underpin your practice, and you also need to be able to communicate this evidence to other health professionals.

Part A. transcript of presentation about the application of quality improvement, lean and health economics (75%) Part B an individual report about a leadership strategy which aligns with authentic leadership (25%).

The purpose of this assessment is to enable you to link health economics and lean principles to quality improvement. Your presentation should be aimed at your peers (i.e. other registered nurses or interprofessional), using appropriate language and terminology, and giving enough explanation for your audience to understand the concepts discussed. A reference list should be provided and noted appropriately throughout your presentation on either the slides or any visual materials used. It is essential that you display professionalism throughout your presentation.provide context and background.

Define the issue/project with a short statement detailing its significance as an appropriate health care issue requiring change – use statistics to support your reasons for change, draw upon research and current literature. Briefly explain the relevance of the chosen issue to an existing practice priority (ie NSW or Tasmania) It is highly recommended that you apply the model for improvement framework provided to you in Module 2.5 for analysing your chosen issue.

Provide a justification for the outcome measures chosen and explain how these will help to understand if a change is an improvement. Consider how the triple or quadruple aim will be addressed.

Part 3: suggested heading ‘Recommendations’ Describe the processes/structures in place (and/or proposed) to ensure the improvements will be sustained eg PDSA cycle support continuous improvement. Summarise your main ideas and reinforce your key message.
