I need to comment on the following post, what are the key takeaway and recommendations?

I think this is an excellent example of letting decisions be driven by data.  Data driven decision making is making its way into my field of sport management, and while some significant cases like Moneyball have shown it to be a valuable tool for optimizing organizational performance, many within the field still have their doubts.
