Create a 5-7 slide PowerPoint presentation, noting the inputs, outputs, tools, and techniques of each of the knowledge areas and process groups, and describing the relationships between them.
In this assessment, you will learn about the 10 knowledge areas and how they relate to the process groups.
One way to think about this is that the knowledge areas encompass what the project manager needs to know, while the process groups describe the actions the project manager (and team) needs to do. Or, put another way, knowledge areas are about knowledge on project management topics, while process groups seek to apply that knowledge. They provide a logical sequence of steps within the knowledge area.
Overview
For this assessment, imagine your employer asks you to speak on how you are using the knowledge areas and process groups defined in the PMBOK® Guide during the execution of the project you selected in Assessment 1. You must create a PowerPoint presentation showing how the knowledge areas and process groups are related during project implementation.

In today’s fast-changing and highly competitive environment, many companies are looking to project management to provide a structured and an organized approach to managing projects through a well-planned and coordinated process. To begin to understand what is involved in developing this process, one needs to understand the components of project management, including methodologies, tools, techniques, and strategies. As a project manager, your main duty is to develop, manage, and organize projects. This can be an overwhelming task if you are not prepared. A project manager must understand the needs, goals, wants, and anticipated outcomes of a project. By developing a detailed and comprehensive project management plan, the project manager can successfully deliver the products, services, or results on time and within budget to meet stakeholder requirements (scope) (Weaver, 2007).
