Choose a country to observe the dominant culture: JAPAN. You will be observing the dominant culture for this country. You will also be looking an aspect of the culture by choosing a subculture or counter-culture to describe. You will be conducting visual research for this assignment. You must watch three different visual mediums. Find videos to observe aspects of the culture. You must watch a documentary (long or short), an interview with someone currently from that culture, and an insightful film, newsreel, or other type of video that focuses on one specific aspect of the culture like a sub-culture or counter-culture. Watch all the videos and make observational notes from that culture. Based on your observations answer all of the following questions. If needed, you may use other research methods to answer the questions. Most, if not all, should be answered from your observations. Attach your observational notes from each video to the end of this worksheet. Make sure your notes are typed. Please make sure that it is clear which notes were taken for each video. You must also provided the titles of each video you watch at the bottom of your notes. Your grade will be deducted 20% if the titles of the video are not included. Links to the videos are preferred.
