As an IT security professional, it is imperative to be aware of the latest vulnerabilities for the operating systems and software utilized by your organization. For this assignment, you will be conducting research to determine the number of vulnerabilities for the operating systems and software products listed below. Prior to conducting the research, briefly write one paragraph that highlights what you believe the results of your research will be after you have completed your search of the web page, National Vulnerability Database (Links to an external site.). To search the NVD, click on “Search” in the lower left-hand menu. You can choose to search for vulnerabilities, products, or checklists within the NVD. You can also use the “NVD Menu” in the top right corner to search through topics, publications, and other resources.

For this assignment, you will be conducting research on the number of vulnerabilities for each of the following operating systems: Microsoft, Linux, Unix, Apple, and Google.

In your paper,

• Create a chart that shows the results of your queries for each product for the past three months.
