Over the past several years, there have been news stories about patients concealing recording devices within their hair or in their belonging bags and surreptitiously recording surgeries and sedated procedures.  These recordings have caught abusive language, hurtful/rude things being said about the patient, and general unprofessional conduct. Answer the following questions and respond to the posts of two of your peers.

1. Do you think that it should become standard practice to video and/or audio record all procedures to provide a record of what is said and done while the patient is under anesthesia?

2. Do you think this would improve communication between operating room staff?

3. Would you have any issues as a nurse or as a patient with being recorded?
