2. Identify the 5 types of power in chapter 12 of The Leadership Experience book by Robert Daft (8th edition) and apply them to examples of leaders in your workplace. Which styles get results in the long-run? Which are more helpful in building emotional commitment?
3. Complete Leadership Practice: Know Yourself 11.1 – Values Balancing. Discuss the ‘capacity for collaboration’ and ‘personal initiative. How does this affect your ability to lead or work with others with different views and values (think diversity).
4. Read section 11.3a – Women as Leaders. According to Exhibit 11.3, how are women better leaders than men? What are your observations regarding female leaders at your workplace?
