Colleague:

The system archetype that might be in control of the case study is growth and under-investment.  I chose this because the organization was small and they were trying to grow their organization by coming up with a new innovative voice recognition algorithm.  The small company was growing with the new product and was doing well until the larger company was able to do more than what the smaller company had to offer.  The smaller company was not able to invest like the larger company which caused the smaller company to go bankrupt because they were under-investing instead of investing more than less.  

I would improve the system by making the small company upgrade their voice-recognition algorithm and come down on their prices.  I know with them being a smaller company they are not able to invest as much as they would like but I would explain that you have to lose some time to gain.  I would explain that you have to invest to grow because if you do not invest your company will not grow.  I would teach them how to invest in their product so that they will grow and make more money off their investment.

 I learned that you have to invest to make the organization.  I know the youth shelter that I work at. I have tried to give them ideas on different buildings to purchase so that we can have the three programs in one building and it will help when it comes to staff issues because if all the youth are in the same building but on different floors there will always be staff onsite.  I tell them all the time they have to invest to make the money because the program is growing but we do not have the space to hold all the youth and staff to make the company grow.
