He requests information regarding immunizations needed before his trip. Albert states that as he will be in Dubai for only a few days, he is unlikely to contract a disease in such a short time and therefore believes that it is illogical to obtain immunizations.

Albert states that he has heard that the side effects of the immunizations might be worse than the diseases they prevent. He is also concerned about leaving his wife at home alone because she is 6 months pregnant.

Case Scenario

In around three months, Albert Mitchell, a man who is currently 36 years old, will be going to Dubai in order to do a business presentation there. Even though he has traveled extensively throughout the United States in his capacity as a consultant, he has never been to the Middle East before. He makes a request for information concerning the immunizations that are required prior to his travel. Since Albert will be in Dubai for only a few days, he believes that it is illogical for him to get immunized because it is improbable that he will catch a disease in such a short amount of time.

As a result, he does not intend to get any vaccinations. Albert claims that he has heard that the potential adverse effects of vaccines could be more severe than the diseases that they are intended to prevent. Because she is currently six months pregnant, he is also apprehensive about the prospect of leaving his wife at home alone.
